On October 6, 2026, Google released Nano Banana 2.1 (model ID gemini-nano-banana-2.1). Many developers’ first reaction was: Is this just a minor update to Nano Banana 2? What’s actually improved? More importantly, can a model that costs just one-quarter as much per image as Nano Banana Pro beat it on quality? The answer is more…
On October 6, 2026, Google launched Nano Banana 2.1 (model ID gemini-nano-banana-2.1) in the Gemini API, positioning it as an upgrade to Nano Banana 2 (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image). The biggest headline is Nano Banana 2.1 Pricing: image output drops from $60 to $30 per million tokens, while the cost of a single 1K image…
Developers have recently reported a counterintuitive experience: claude-opus-5-5 doesn’t feel slow at all. In fact, it often finishes tasks earlier than claude-sonnet-5-5. If the flagship model is both faster and stronger, is Sonnet’s only remaining advantage that it costs half as much? The answer isn’t that simple. This article uses six sets of public data…
On September 28, Anthropic released claude-sonnet-5-5. The very next day, OpenAI launched gpt-6.1-sol at DevDay. The new flagship workhorse models from both companies arrived back-to-back—and with exactly the same list price: $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Many developers’ first reaction was, “They’re both cheaper, so just pick either one.”…
Recently, quite a few customers have reported the same issue when generating images in batches with gpt image 2.5: after enlarging the images, they can see fine color bands. The most typical example is faint pink vertical lines that appear and disappear in smooth skin-tone areas such as the forehead, bridge of the nose, and…
Claude doesn’t “draw” videos, but it’s becoming one of the best models at “writing” them. Over the past few months, overseas developer communities have produced a growing number of examples: give Claude Code a single prompt, and ten minutes later, you have an MP4 with animation, voice-over, and subtitles. Since the release of Claude Opus…
“Is gpt-4o-mini about to be phased out?” This is a question that keeps coming up in tech communities. The immediate trigger is a series of model retirement announcements from Azure OpenAI Service, combined with gpt-4o-mini’s continued decline in various benchmark rankings. As a result, many teams have started reevaluating their model choices. Based on OpenAI’s…
GPT-6-Astra was released on September 3, 2026, and rolled out to everyone the following day. Just a week after launch, social media was flooded with complaints that "GPT-6-Astra has been dumbed down." Users reported that the same prompts were yielding lower-quality outputs than in the first few days, and that the "Extra high" reasoning tier…
Image generation selection has always been one of the most painful decisions for AI application teams. On July 24, 2026, Midjourney 8.2 became the default version, while OpenAI’s gpt-image-2 has already been running in production for more than three months since its April release. These two models are often compared side by side, but most…
Midjourney set V8.2 as the default version on July 24, 2026. The official description was only a few short lines: images would be more creative, bolder, more refined, sharper, and fresher, while “the chance of randomly getting low-quality images will be greatly reduced.” For people who actually rely on it to deliver images, this kind…
